Custodian/janitor

**Job Title**: Custodian - Manufacturing Plant

**Position Type**: Part time to Full-time

**Overview**: Hansen Industries Ltd., a leading manufacturer in Sheet Metal Fabrication, is seeking a meticulous and reliable Custodian to maintain cleanliness and order within our manufacturing plant. The Custodian will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for our employees, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of all areas within the manufacturing plant, including production floors, restrooms, break rooms, and common areas.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors to remove debris, spills, and stains, maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Empty and sanitize trash receptacles, segregating recyclable materials according to company policies.
- Clean and disinfect restroom facilities, replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, machinery(if needed), equipment, and fixtures to prevent the accumulation of dust and debris.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, requesting replenishment as necessary to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and repairing minor plumbing issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or concerns to the appropriate personnel promptly.
- Collaborate with fellow custodial staff and other departments to ensure effective communication and teamwork.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a custodian or janitor, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in janitorial work.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and pressure washers safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Physical stamina and ability to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions and work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

**Experience**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in custodial or janitorial work.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
- Track record of adhering to safety guidelines and protocols in the workplace.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- 8 hour shift
