In your role, you will:
- Be part of the engineering team assigned to the design of structural repair schemes for damaged in-service aircraft, in accordance with Regulatory Body (TC, FAA, EASA, etc.) and MHIRJ Aerospace Design requirements.
- Perform repair sizing, select structural configurations and materials (metallic and composites structures) for preparing optimized repair schemes, while meeting tight customers’ schedules and deadlines.
- Review and authorize prepared repair solutions and submit them for compliance review and approval to a Transport Canada Representative (DAD).
- Coordinate with other sections and departments to ensure the development of optimized and efficient repair solutions.
- Organize and monitor on-site damage surveys, when necessary, of immobilized aircraft (Occasional International Travel required).
- Issuance of recommendations regarding the airworthiness of damaged aircraft.
- Direct support, when necessary, of MHIRJ Mobile Repair Team, including design and analysis of repairs and instructions to operators regarding inspections required for return to service of Aircraft.
- Be part of one of the two morning shift teams that cover a 7 days’ operation in rotation. (compensated by shift premiums)
**Qualifications**
- You must have a bachelor’s degree in Aircraft / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent repair design expertise.
- You have 5 to 10 relevant years of experience in the design and implementation of Aircraft Structural Repairs.
- You have detailed knowledge of CATIA V5 and Enovia.
- You are a team player, have excellent oral and written communication skills and will be able to work under minimum supervision in a fast-paced working environment.
- Experience in Stress Analysis (Static Substantiations) of Aircraft Structural Repairs is an asset.
