Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care (“Yee Hong”) is one of the largest not-for-profit, culturally-appropriate seniors care organizations in Canada. At several campuses of care and other service locations across the Greater Toronto Area, Yee Hong offers a full continuum of services including active seniors programs, adult day programs, caregiver support services, transportation, meals on wheels, congregate dining, home care, long-term care, and hospice/palliative care.

In their living setting of choice, seniors and their families are supported to optimize their physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being. Yee Hong also supports other organizations with innovating seniors care through its advisory services, training and learning centre, and research. **Status: Full Time**

**Core Function**:

- Performs repairs and preventative maintenance duties, and ensures that the building is maintained in a clean, attractive and safe condition. Responds to emergency building maintenance and security requests

**Qualifications**:

- High school completed with relevant course
- Minimum 1 year of related experience, preferably in building maintenance
- Knowledge of legislations and relevant procedures regarding building standards, fire and safety
- Some knowledge of preventive maintenance programs for building systems and ground maintenance
- Good interpersonal skills. Experience working with seniors is an asset
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, plus
- Relevant satisfactory work performance

**Working Condition**:

- Considerable standing, walking, lifting, pushing and bending
- Exposed to all tenant care elements through regular client contact
- Exposed to garbage, dust, heat, noise, and humidity
- On-call services for building maintenance, emergency and safety matters
- Required to work weekends and statutory holidays and evening and night shifts if necessary
