Who are we looking for:
We are growing and are looking for an experienced, well-rounded hands-on Maintenance Manager to help us build and continue to grow the organization together with our colleagues in Canada and the Norwegian Team of experts by implementing efficient and cost-effective predictive and preventive maintenance management strategies.

As the Maintenance Manager for Vitux Canada, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining a continuous production operation including routine preventative maintenance and the optimization of equipment safety, food safety, manufacturing efficiencies, and equipment reliability. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for managing the effective delivery of maintenance services to operations by maximizing plant equipment reliability and functionality, utilities, and to support the achievement of uptime and productivity targets by overseeing the methods and process in carrying out Predictive, Preventive and Corrective maintenance of all plant equipment to ensure short-term and long-term operational plans, objectives, requirements and standards are met. The Maintenance Manager with a strong technical background is a multifunctional position responsible for all aspects of site maintenance operations which requires a background in automated production line equipment, project planning, and health and safety. A background with a dietary supplement / pharmaceutical manufacturing (GMP) or food processing facility experience (production, clean rooms, etc.) would be preferable.

Scope of Primary Responsibilities:

- Execute and manage the manufacturing sites performance through effective problems solving with experience in food or pharma processing equipment maintenance, HVAC, process chemicals, Purified Water Systems, instrumentation in a GMP production facility environment.
- Implement preventative & predictive maintenance program to maximize equipment reliability and uptime, reduce unplanned downtime and ensure the program is followed and all work is tracked.
- Ensures smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by scheduling timely preventive maintenance requirements on production equipment.
- Performs routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoots equipment breakdowns, conducts root cause analysis processes, oversees emergency manufacturing equipment repairs of dietary supplement processing equipment in a timely manner and eliminates root cause to minimize downtime, increase throughput and sustainability.
- Assure equipment reliability to increase production line productivity measured by Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE)
- In collaboration with manufacturing operations, perform critical spare parts assessments and provide recommendations on which components should be stocked, and min/max quantities.
- Manage maintenance spare parts inventory, order materials and equipment as required to replenish.
- Ensures compliance to all the regulatory, environmental, quality and safety standards related to the functional area.
- Optimize equipment safety, food safety, and reliability including the management of preventative maintenance initiatives while ensuring compliance to regulations and procedures to maintain the highest levels of health and safety, food safety, GMP's, HACCP, BRC, Health Canada, and FDA regulatory requirements compliance.
- OHSA - Ensure compliance of Occupational Health & Safety Act.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field, or college diploma in a technical field.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive technical maintenance management experience preferably in the GMP dietary supplement / pharmaceutical or food manufacturing industry (FDA, Health Canada).
- Practical knowledge and detailed understanding of maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Strong demonstrated mechanical background in maintenance of equipment in a manufacturing operations environment and knowledge of HACCP and GMP regulations.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and monitoring programs.
