**About the Role**
As a Heavy Duty Driver, you are responsible for the safe, competent and efficient operation of ATCO fleet vehicles and equipment while maintaining a strong commitment to personal and job safety.
**What You’ll Do**:
- Operate, in a safe, competent and efficient manner, company fleet vehicles, including truck/tractor trailer combinations but not limited to 53’ trailers, small pintle hitch trailers, hydraulic tilt deck trailers etc.
- Responsible for the safe loading, unloading, and securing of material and equipment such as: track hoes, backhoes, dozers, small to Large Trucks, pipe and prefab.
- Operate, in a safe, competent and efficient manner, various types of equipment for loading and unloading purposes.
- Safe transport of compressed natural gas from hub compression station to sites
- Understand and arrange for overweight and/or over dimensional load permits as required.
- Ensure the regular care and maintenance of company vehicles assigned to you is performed and our company and regulatory records pertaining to a heavy truck drivers’ responsibility are kept current.
- Carry out yard and shop housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Maintain accurate Driver's Daily Logbooks as required to comply with government legislation.
- Perform other related duties as required in a safe efficient manner.
**Operational Commitments**
- Available to travel throughout the province in all terrain and weather conditions.
- Required to meet standby requirements and be willing to take standby as required.
- Must be able to, as required, work and stay away from home base.
**What You Bring**:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s license with air brake endorsement is required
- 3 to 5 years’ experience operating a tractor trailer and demonstrated competencies working with heavy equipment is required
- Understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods regulations.
- Excellent Verbal and written communications skills
- Willingness to successfully obtain all appropriate company required certificates.
- Previous or current experience in Transporting Dangerous Goods is an asset
- Previous or Current Winch experience is considered an asset
- Journeyperson Crane Operator ticket would be an asset
