As one of Canada's largest marine engineering integrators, we are looking for talented individuals to bring their skills to Fleetway as we lead the way in Canadian naval defence contracts (In Service Support). Our work is project focused on government ship design and support, including warships, ferries, ice-breakers and commercial vessels.

We currently have a new opportunity for a** Technical Editor** at our **Dartmouth, NS **office This position will work in our Information Management Department and report to the manager of that department. The role will primarily involve the provision of support to Fleetway’s project teams in the control and issuance of engineering documents, version control and data entry.

We are looking for an individual that consistently takes initiative, is bright, energetic, pays attention to the details and is adept at setting priorities. This person must also enjoy working as a team but is also comfortable working alone, is a quick learner and **THRIVES** under time constraints

**Key Responsibilities and Outcomes**:

- Proofread, edit, and format technical publications, standardizing both content and layout with boilerplate templates in accordance with applicable style manuals and guidelines.
- Structural and stylistic editing for layout, spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, consistency, mathematical expressions, cross-referencing, SI usage, and such mechanics as capitalization and abbreviation
- Responding to internal and external drawing and documentation requests
- Format in Microsoft Word to build styles, templates, and data population
- Maintaining quality assurance by ensuring the integrity, security, accuracy, and consistency of company and client information assets over their entire lifecycle
- Maintaining a customer focus to ensure that requirements and expectations are delivered on time and to a high standard
- Collaborates with Marine Technical Services to resolve content clarity, and Configuration Management to distribute files in a consistent and complying process
- Works within an Agile methodology to effectively manage and process publication activities
- Adaptable to change as we transition into an S1000D modular data environment

**Skill, Capabilities, and Experience**:

- College or University graduate in English, Communications, Journalism or other Arts and Technology programs preferred
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills
- Editing and writing skills considered a strong asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing
- Experience in graphic/compositional tools such as Corel or Adobe Photoshop considered an asset
- Must have high attention to detail and be comfortable with complex verifications or technical content
- Experience with data module approaches such as S1000D considered an advantage

**All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance.**
