Forthright is searching for our next team member in the role of a Maintenance Technician to support our portfolio of properties all over Manitoba. If you are looking for a role in a growing company that offers full-time work with employee benefits, then this is the opportunity for you
**Responsibilities**
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all apartment suites and townhome complexes, both interior and exterior.
- Complete all work orders assigned by the Maintenance Manager in a timely fashion. Close assigned work orders with detailed records of the work completed, the materials used and time required to complete the assignment.
- Appliance repair, including refrigerators, ovens, hot water tanks, dishwashers, washers/dryers.
- Troubleshoot and perform any necessary repairs to property and equipment that do not require a qualified contractor.
- Drywall and Painting - patch and paint/paint preparation, both interior and exterior.
- Grounds keeping - some assistance with snow clearing and general grounds maintenance may be required on occasion.
**Qualifications**
- 5 years’ experience in general maintenance preferred
- A very good understanding of building systems, such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
- Intermediate to high level of experience with painting and drywall repair, including mudding and taping
- Experience with troubleshooting general appliances, air handlers and household mechanical equipment
- Experience with residential property maintenance
- Experience with all types of appliance repairs listed above
- Customer service skills, effective communication within a team environment
- Organized & detail oriented
- Yardi software app experience
- Good physical condition with mobility & flexibility; able to use ladders and work outdoors
- Able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Dependable, able to work independently and as a team player
- Available and willing to work occasional evenings and weekends (overtime), and fulfill a rotational on-all schedule.
- Must have a valid class 5 drivers license
