Class 1 - Long Haul Driver (Super B)

MyCan Transport Ltd is a Yukon and Alberta Transportation company with offices in Edmonton and Whitehorse. We are seeking professional, experienced, responsible Class 1 drivers to join our long-haul team. We haul general freight on super-b flat decks, step decks, and van trailers. We also haul energy, (various types of fuels). MyCan Transport Ltd is a federally regulated company, and our lanes are Alberta, British Columbia, and the Yukon. **Preferred Qualifications and Requirements**: Hold a valid Class 1 License. Ability to haul fuel, LNG, super-b, flat decks, and van trailers. Willingness and ability to tarp super b loads, is mandatory. Ability to strap/tie down super b loads. Experience & capability to back-up a super b trailer is a must. Hold valid H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, and TDG Certificates. 3 years previous experience with hauling hazmat and/or freight is preferred. Willingness and ability train on all LNG Orientations, fuel, super b, step deck, and flat deck requirements. Ability to "chain-up" on mountain roads. Experience with completing Bill of Ladings. Ability to run HOS on an electronic log (ELD). Ability to be compliant with Hours-of-Service, and Cargo Securement, in reference to NSC and DOT regulations. Knowledge and completion of regulated pre-trip inspections and daily vehicle inspection reports are required. Physically fit with the ability to lift (up to 50lbs). Experience driving in all weather conditions, and mountain terrain is a must. Must be clean and neat in appearance and be able to speak good English. **Responsibilities**: Pick up and deliver freight in a professional, safe, and timely manner. Ability to follow dispatch instructions. Compliant with traffic and safety laws. Ability to complete detailed daily paperwork, with timely submission to the office. Offer excellent customer service. Have safe driving behaviors. **Experience**: Our insurance company requires minimum 3 years' experience, with no distracted driving listed on commercial drivers abstracts. It is crucial to have experience with hauling dangerous goods. Yukon, BC, and Alberta driving. MyCan Transport Ltd offers consistent, full-time, year-round employment, above average pay and excellent benefits. Company drivers are assigned their own trucks and are responsible to keep it in excellent, clean condition. Compensation rates are based upon years with the company, as well as the type of trailer you are pulling. The compensation rate listed in the ad applies to the starting rate for pulling a super b trailer only.
