Groundskeeping Superintendent

**Oakridge**is currently recruiting for a Grounds Superintendent for the Brantford/Kitchener/London area. The position involves overseeing year-round**exterior commercial property maintenance.

**Job Title**: Grounds Superintendent

**Location**: Brantford/Kitchener/London area.

**Pay**: $60,000 to 70,000 Annually.

**Job Duties**:

- Ensuring that the properties are safe, clean and maintained at all times (hard and softscape).
- Familiarize yourself with any contractors working on sites (i.e.: painters, masons, HVAC, plumbing, parking lot maintenance, snow removal etc) and reporting this information back to the Grounds Manager.
- Completion of month end reports for each property.
- Submission of a daily Janitorial written report (DWR) for each site. Pick-up every Monday and submit to the Grounds Manager.
- Identify, photograph, measure and report any site hazards to management.
- Maintain a good working relationship with all store tenants and property managers, including regular scheduled visits to ensure tenant needs are consistently met.
- Supervising the grounds keeping crews to ensure tasks are completed properly and to OLC standards.
- Ability to ensure OLC standards are being held high and following proper procedures if / when a grounds keeping crew member is not meeting standards.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are held high among the grounds keeping crews and ensuring all staff members are aware of any unsafe or hazardous conditions in the area.
- Monitor sites for empty units, damages etc. and report to Grounds Manager immediately.

**WINTER WORK**:

- The Superintendent will manage the daily operation of all snow removal projects.
- He / she will be available 24/7 on cal.
- Winter projects are managed the same as any other project, but clarification is noted in Snow Procedure.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**:

- Degree or Diploma in Horticultural Studies; Construction; Landscape; Applied Technology or Construction Management; is an asset.
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Clean Driver’s Abstract.

**ADDITIONAL SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Knowledge of site including operation and location of important items (i.e. alarm panels, alarm codes, roof hatches, fire hydrants, utility and electrical rooms, catch basins, water meters).
- Familiarity with contractual scope of work.
- Proven dedication and motivation.
- Ability to make quick, smart decisions.
- Necessary attention to detail.
- Knowledge of HVAC and general construction practice.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Working knowledge of MS Excel.
