You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning. **Your Typical Responsibilities**: - Reports to and communicates directly with the Aquatics Manager - Work a flexible schedule that may include mornings/evenings and weekends as required by business needs and as requested by management - Engagement with children/swimmers while smiling, singing, and having fun while teaching lessons - Disciplined to follow schedules and enforce safety procedures as well as follow policies, teaching techniques and procedures of British Swim School - Speaking to parents/customers about their children’s progress - Other responsibilities as assigned by the Aquatics Manager or Franchise Business Owner. **Minimum Qualifications**: - High school diploma or in the process of completion - Enthusiastic personality. - Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed - Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment. - Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing. **Preferred Qualifications**: - Experience working with children. - Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required. - Customer service skills: 1 year preferred - Lifeguarding Certification preferred - First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) preferred (but can be obtained during training) **About Us**: Here at British Swim School, we are more than just a fun, surface-level swim lesson provider. As a result, we can support our mission “to ensure that every person, regardless of age or ability, has the opportunity to become a safe and happy swimmer". **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour Expected hours: 12 - 20 per week **Benefits**: - Flexible schedule - On-site parking Flexible language requirement: - French not required Schedule: - 4 hour shift - Evening shift - Monday to Friday - Morning shift - Weekends as needed Ability to commute/relocate: - Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) **Experience**: - Swimming: 1 year (preferred) Licence/Certification: - Lifeguard Certification (preferred) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2024-10-15
