**What you will do**:
The Vice-President, Strategic, Corporate and Public Affairs, is responsible for the strategies and initiatives to achieve the President’s integrated vision and the Agency’s priorities. The VP provides leadership and advice on matters related to strategic policy, communications, outreach, relations with government and parliamentarians, media, academe and stakeholders in general and serves as a senior representative for NSERC with senior government and research officials in a diverse variety of national and international fora. The VP is responsible for international policy development, strategies to advance Indigenous engagement, corporate level data governance, and for ensuring effective corporate operations, planning and reporting, as well as being the senior executive responsible for Governance (corporate secretariat function) and Risk (internal audit, evaluation, ethics and integrity).

**What you need to succeed**:
**Education**:

- Completion of graduate studies or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

**Experience**:

- Experience in developing and maintaining successful relationships and partnerships with senior officials from government, academic and/or non-governmental sectors.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives and policies.
- Experience in dealing with members of governance and advisory bodies (boards of directors/governors; advisory councils).
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary

**Knowledge**:

- Knowledge of the government’s policy commitments to science and research in Canada and internationally.
- Knowledge of corporate governance philosophies and methods, including integrity frameworks for the public sector.
