You will be directly responsible to carry-out activities with animals as a part of a study plan in order to assess the efficacy of specific drugs. The role will encompass rodent animal welfare, drug delivery along with clinical and behavioral assessments. Working closely with Study Directors and Team Members, to support established animal models you will perform procedures and collect data from on-going studies and report on observation and findings.

**Responsibilities**:

- Administer experimental therapeutic agents to rodents (gavage, injection)
- Perform animal behavioral assessments
- Observe, examine and follow up on clinical signs of animals
- Perform sample collection (perfusions, tissue, blood, cerebrospinal fluid)
- Enter animal data using computer programs
- Read and ensure understanding of study plans prior to the start of each study
- Understand, adhere to, and follow Standard Organizational Procedures
- Participate in the daily team tasks and related duties
- Demonstrate initiative and interest in new work techniques and in working with different animal models

**Skills and Requirements**:

- 1 to 3 years of experience
- Experience in animal surgery (asset).
- College diploma in animal health, biotechnology or equivalent, or a Bachelor of Science degree with rodent behavioral and surgical experience
- Working knowledge of animal health sciences;
- Ability to read and understand English; Bilingualism is an asset;
- Ability to work in a team environment;
- Ability to manage time efficiently;

Biospective est à la recherche d’un technicien en santé animale pour se joindre notre équipe.

**Description**

Vous serez responsable de réaliser des tâches spécifiques auprès des animaux dans le cadre d'un plan d'étude afin d'évaluer l'efficacité de traitements médicaux spécifiques. Ce rôle inclut la prise en charge du bien-être des rongeurs, l'administration de thérapeutiques expérimentaux ainsi que la conduite d'évaluations cliniques et comportementales. En étroite collaboration avec les directeurs d'étude et les membres de l'équipe, vous serez amené à effectuer des procédures et à collecter des données dans le cadre d'études en cours utilisant des modèles murins bien établis et à rédiger des rapports sur les observations et les résultats.

Nous sommes à la recherche d’une personne qui a un bon esprit d'équipe et qui souhaite faire partie d'une équipe dynamique et collaborative, soucieuse du bien-être des animaux.

Responsabilités:

- Administrer des agents thérapeutiques expérimentaux aux rongeurs (gavage, injection)
- Effectuer des évaluations comportementales des animaux
- Observer, examiner et suivre les signes cliniques des animaux.
- Prélever des échantillons (perfusions, tissus, sang, liquide céphalo-rachidien).
- Saisir les données relatives aux animaux à l'aide de programmes informatiques
- Lire et s'assurer de la compréhension des plans d'étude avant l’inittation de chaque étude
- Comprendre, adhérer et suivre les procédures organisationnelles standard.
- Participer aux tâches quotidiennes de l'équipe et aux tâches connexes.
- Faire preuve d'initiative et d'intérêt pour les nouvelles techniques de travail et pour le travail avec différents modèles animaux.

**Exigences et compétenses requises**
- 1 à 3 ans d'expérience
- Expérience en chirurgie animale (atout).
- Diplôme d'études collégiales en santé animale, en biotechnologie ou l'équivalent, ou un baccalauréat en sciences avec une expérience en comportement et en chirurgie des rongeurs.
- Connaissance pratique des sciences de la santé animale ;
- Capacité de lire et de comprendre l'anglais ; le bilinguisme est un atout ;
- Capacité à travailler en équipe ;
- Capacité à gérer efficacement son temps ;

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
