Position Summary:_

Responsible for courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of food products. Operates a van to perform deliveries throughout the city. Hourly rate will be provided in addition to a standard fee per delivery made. Number of deliveries will vary depending on business needs.

Shift Detail: 4 days a week, 10 hours per day

Working days to be Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
- Essential Functions:_- Ensure accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries to local clients within the food industry. Works professionally, courteously and safely.- Handling food products (produce, spices, seafood, meat, dairy, etc).- Communicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form.- Perform proper equipment maintenance, monitor reefer temperature, and reports mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.- Loading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate.- Lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 45 kg (100 lbs)- Communicate with the Transportation supervisor and other departments regarding issues and concerns.- Complete daily check-in procedures.- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:_- Ability to adhere to all safety/compliance regulations and procedures.- Ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.- Must maintain a professional appearance wearing the GFS uniform.- This position requires punctuality, problem solving and attention to detail.- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.- Ability to work independently and also function in a team environment.- Must be goal oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.- Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in the English language.- Ability to meet the physical demands of this job including lifting, pushing, pulling of product.
- Equipment / Tools / Technology:_- Ability to operate on-board computer and handheld scanner.- Ability to operate a delivery van CMV- Must be able to operate a two-wheeler with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.- Uses dollies and other safety equipment to aid in the lifting and carrying of products.- Some basic knowledge of computer operations.
