General Farm Assistant

Burford, Canada Caledon Produce Farms Ltd. Full time

The general farm assistant will work with office and shop staff to coordinate the completion of outdoor farm tasks as well as administrative tasks related to the day-to-day operation of the farm. This position is active, fast-paced, and requires excellent ability to take initiative and work independently.

Outdoor farm tasks (90%)
- Complete regular compliance checks in field, including those related to personal hygiene facilities, equipment, and employee food safety processes.
- Assist in maintaining physical equipment inventory, including finding and recording equipment details and photos, updating insurance slips, and related tasks.
- Coordinate with office staff to collect and compile paperwork from various farm locations.
- Complete in-house water sampling and testing and report on results.
- Assist with organization of farm and shop supplies.
- Other duties as required.

Administrative tasks (10%)
- Assist with reporting and filing as needed.

Job requirements:

- Must be comfortable working outdoors and in heat.
- Must be comfortable with moderate physical activity, including walking, bending, climbing, and lifting.
- Must have a valid class G license and be comfortable driving farm vehicles, including SUVs, vans, and/or pickup trucks.
- Experience with farmwork and farm equipment is an asset.
- Experience with CanadaGAP is an asset.

Work schedule: flexible

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 22.5 per week
