**What we offer**

This position provides an exceptional opportunity for students to gain valuable industry knowledge and hands-on experience in residential construction health and safety. As a full-time, on-site co-op role, it offers exposure to a fast-paced environment with dynamic and ever-changing conditions.

**What you’ll do**
- Job duties and responsibilities (5-8 bullets covering key responsibilities)
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety procedures and policies.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Support the Safety Specialist with contractor pre-construction meetings and contractor management activities.
- Participate in incident investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to promote a culture of safety on all aspects of the sites.
- Assist in the delivery of safety training and awareness programs for site personnel.
- Participate in meetings such as pre-construction, Daily Safety Assessments (DSAs)/Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) meetings, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.

**What you bring**
- ** G License and access to reliable vehicle required**:

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in construction health and safety practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

**Bonus points**
- Previous experience or coursework related to construction safety is an asset but not required.
- Any training related to H&S such as First Aid/CPR, Working at Heights, WHMIS etc. is an asset but not required.
