The Biologics Manufacturing Centre (BMC) Inc. is a 54,900 square foot biomanufacturing facility whose construction was completed in June 2021. The BMC supports the expansion of the country's biologics manufacturing capacity, ensuring that vaccines and other related products can be safely manufactured at home. BMC is designed to create biopharmaceuticals such as viral vector, protein subunit and virus-like particle vaccines and other biologics.

In order to contribute to the implementation of the new not-for-profit organization and to make biomedical innovations more accessible to Canadians, we are looking for a
- **Technologist**
**Manufacturing,**
**Media Preparation, Washing & Sterilizing** who will support the development, implementation and execution of current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) processes for the manufacture of vaccines and other biologics for human use to support the activities of the Production team.

Under the supervison of the Superviror Manufacturing, Media Preparation, Washing & Sterilizing, the
- **Manufacturing Technologist,**
**Media Preparation, Washing & Sterilizing **will be responsible for:

- Perform activities related to media and buffer preparation including weighing chemicals, mixing, measuring pH and conductivity, as well as sterile filtration of solutions and filter inegrity testing.
- Performs equipment and parts preparation activities, be responsible for the operation and verification of autoclave cycles for sterilization and decontamination and basic equipment maintenance.
- Perform batch record keeping and area cleaning.
- Maintain technical records, files and inventories.
- Calibrate, verify and troubleshoot performance and reliability of equipment and instruments.

**You are the person we are looking for if**:

- You hold at least a Post Secondary Diploma in life science, biotechnology or engineering.
- You have a minimum of two (2) years’ work experience in GMP manufacturing operations, particularly in the manufacture of buffers and cell culture media, handling of raw materials and weighing of chemicals, in a biotechnology or biopharmaceutical industry environment.
- A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Experience with vaccines is strongly preferred.
- You have the ability to analyze and interpret results, identify problems, and resolve them in a production environment.
- You must be able to handle/lift up to 10 kilograms.
- Flexible schedule and overtime may be required including nights, weekends, and holidays.
