Tunneling Project Manager

**The Position**: Due to growth and project awards, we are now looking for Project Managers to join us and lead a variety of projects across Western Canada. Sound management of the construction site is needed in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers' objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.

You will deliver on-going projects to the specified quality and with maximum commercial performance. You will work closely with the estimating department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner and efficient manner that reflects the high standards Bothar is renowned for.

Compensation includes equitable pay based on experience, benefits and health spending account, living out allowance or paid accommodations, and travel expense coverage.

Travel and extensive working away from home is required in this position, with assignment to various project locations across BC and AB.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop, and deliver on Project Execution Plans, Inspection Test Plans, and RAMs, executing to the specified quality, without defects, and according to company procedures.
- Participate in pre-planning meetings with the client, sub-contractors and internally
- Regularly review budget, costing, and controls to ensure execution of the project within the budget, and that commercial performance of the contract is maximized.
- Maintaining commercial tension to drive out cost and challenge the status quo.
- Ensure schedule stays current, updating as required, and maintaining the execution of the project within the final and approved schedule.
- Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the procurement department to ensure sites have adequate resources, including subcontractors, to complete the tasks.
- Continual forecasting, keeping the team informed of forecasts and changes and managing the scope meticulously.
- Monitor job progress, participate in daily site meetings, and provide daily status reporting to clients and senior management.
- Ensure quality control measures are met on site and appropriate documentation is made.
- Assess possible risks for projects and create a management plan for mitigating risks.
- Support HSE manager with ensuring the HSE standards by the client and the company are followed and executed by all team members.
- Assist with site logistics, including crew travel schedules, trucking deliveries.
- Approve field tickets and invoices, timecards, purchase orders.
- Maintain customer relations during the project duration to client's counterpart, providing reporting and status updates as required.

**Qualifications**
- Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, or Bsc.
- CEng / PEng is desirable.
- Underground experience in civil infrastructure is preferred with at least 4 years experience in a supervisory position

**Key Technical Skills and Knowledge**
- Management of Civil or Tunnelling projects within highly regulated environments.
- Design Management Program & Risk Management, Production of cost control, budgeting, forecasting reports.
- Ability to challenge designs and resolve problems to conclusion.
- Use of project management tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Creation of project execution plans, using bid documents and other resources.
- Contract management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and deliver a successful project with mínimal guidance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and handle competing priorities.

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
