**Opportunity Description**
The Environmental Assurance Division of CPP Environmental is primarily responsible for environmental work and permitting in relation to construction projects. This typically includes obtaining environmental permits for projects (Water Act CoP notifications, wildlife permits, Temporary Field Authorizations, etc.), explaining and summarizing permits to the client (what they have, what is missing), and conducting technical work (fish salvages, turbidity monitoring, ESC plans, site inspections, wildlife sweeps, weed surveys, bathymetric surveys, etc.). However, staff are also involved in other post-approval related activities such as groundwater monitoring, water quality monitoring, and wildlife studies.

**Overall Responsibilities include**:
- Lead and mentor the Environmental Assurance Division, aligning work with organizational goals.
- Oversee field services, including environmental inspections and installation of controls.
- Supervise staff to ensure timely and high-quality project deliverables.
- Work with staff to help them achieve their career goals.
- Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and professional development for team members.
- Coordinate, write, and submit project proposals and reports. Conduct quality assurance reviews and approve technical reports for client submissions.
- Ensure project budgets and invoicing are managed effectively.
- Account management: regular contact with customers and providing customers with service, support, and improvement opportunities. Serve as the primary contact for client projects, ensuring satisfaction and fostering strong relationships.
- Active problem solving and supporting staff when issues arise with projects.
- Stay updated on regulatory trends and industry opportunities.
- Promote adherence to safety policies and procedures within the division. Active participation in the Safety Committee.
- Oversee compilation of detailed reports for special projects.
- Research and interpret a wide variety of legal agreements, and reports for content and consistency.
- Strong skill set interpreting regulatory approvals and construction permitting approvals and land agreement packages to support clients and the clearing, construction and reclamation activities.
- Oversee management of field equipment and vehicles.
- Perform other duties as required.
**Qualifications**
- Proven leadership skills with strong coaching, team building and mentoring abilities.
- Advanced knowledge of pipeline, powerline, municipal infrastructure, road construction and vegetation clearing activities.
- Negotiation, decision making and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of utility, surface, pipeline and power line agreements dealing with the acquisition or administration of Federal, Provincial or Private land.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in managing multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Strong technical writing, editing, and review skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects, set priorities, and meet rigid deadlines.
- Professional, safety conscious, and client focused attitude.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in an environmental science.
- Qualify for membership in training with either the Association of Alberta Forest Management Professionals, Alberta Institute of Agrologists, Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, Alberta Society of Professional Biologists, or Alberta Professional Planners Institute.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience managing technical teams and projects.
- Proven expertise in Alberta’s natural resource development policies and regulations.
- Previous experience with building strong client relations and business development skills.
- Experience with project management, quality assurance, and contract negotiation.
- Knowledge of utility, surface, pipeline and power line agreements dealing with the acquisition or administration of Federal, Provincial or Private land.
- A valid Alberta driver’s license.
Pay: $75,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
