**Pacifica Partners | Capital Management** is seeking a skilled and investment‑focused **Portfolio Manager** (or Associate Portfolio Manager) to join our growing team. This is a **registrable role with the BCSC** and will work directly with our **Chief Investment Officer** and a roster of high‑net‑worth clients across North America.

**Role Overview**
You will work closely with the CIO on investment strategy, research, and portfolio oversight, while also acting as a trusted advisor to a select group of clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small‑team environment with structured but independent work, enjoys deep analytical work, and excels in client communication.
**Responsibilities**
**Investment & Portfolio Management (Approx. 50%)**
- Conduct ongoing **industry, sector, and security‑level research** to support portfolio decisions.
- Generate investment ideas and contribute actively to firm‑wide strategy discussions.
- Assist the CIO with **position monitoring, investment universe evaluation, and watchlist oversight**.
- Prepare investment commentary, thematic insights, and market‑related analysis for internal and client communication.
- Monitor existing holdings and recommend portfolio adjustments aligned with client objectives and firm philosophy.
**Client Advisory & Relationship Management (Approx. 50%)**
- Advise a roster of high‑net‑worth clients across Canada and the U.S.
- Conduct client meetings, review portfolios, discuss financial goals, and present market insights.
- Respond to client inquiries with professionalism, accuracy, and a focus on service excellence.
- Prepare customized portfolio reviews, performance summaries, and financial recommendations.
- Ensure all client interactions and recommendations meet compliance, regulatory, and documentation standards.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
- Eligible for registration as a **Portfolio Manager (PM)** or **Associate Portfolio Manager (APM)** with the BCSC.
- Strong foundation in investment analysis, portfolio theory, and capital markets.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a client‑first mindset.
- A Bachelors degree in Finance or a related field of study.
**Preferred**
- **CFA charter holder** strongly preferred.
- **CMT designation** considered a significant asset.
- Experience presenting investment concepts and market insights to clients.
- Proficiency with Office 365; familiarity with portfolio management tools is an asset.

**Compensation & Benefits**
