**Position Summary**
**The RECE School-Age Site Supervisor plays a pivotal leadership role in delivering high-quality Before and After School programs for school-age children. Reporting directly to the General Manager or designate, this position combines instructional expertise with administrative oversight to create safe, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environments. The Supervisor supports a child-centered approach rooted in the pedagogical framework of**_**How Does Learning Happen?**_**, while ensuring strict adherence to all licensing, health, and organizational standards. The role involves collaborative practices with fellow educators, building strong community relationships, and promoting a culture of learning, inclusion, and professional excellence.**
**Required Qualifications & Certifications**
- A recognized Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE)
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Updated immunization record, including TDaP, MMR, Hepatitis B, and Varicella
- A clean Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within five months of hire
- Successful completion of the CCEYA Self-Test Certification
**Core Responsibilities1. Licensing and Administrative Compliance Oversight**
- Ensure full compliance with Ministry of Education regulations and Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) standards
- Maintain up-to-date, organized and detailed administrative records, including but not limited to:
- Daily Written Logs
- Attendance logs
- Medication administration forms and Medications on site
- Allergy and vital information forms
- Accident and behavior incident reports
- Water flushing records
- Fire drills and inspections
- Playground safety check documentation (Daily and Monthly)
- Individual Treatment Plan / Individual Support Plan reviews
- Conduct monthly internal audits of staff and site files, proactively addressing any compliance gaps and notifying the appropriate manager
- Act as the primary point of contact during visits from Ministry Program Advisors, Health Unit officers, and Wellington County representatives
**2. Program Implementation**
- Plan and deliver emergent, inquiry-based curriculum rooted in _How Does Learning Happen?_ Principles
- Create developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and engaging learning environments that support all children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth
- Supervise children directly, ensuring safety, inclusion, and positive behavior management at all times
- Document and share learning through observation notes, child portfolios, and project documentation
- Conduct daily health and safety routines, including sanitation procedures and playground inspections
**3. Program Leadership and Team Engagement**
- Collaborate positively and effectively with fellow educators
- Lead by example in programming and engagement to exceed minimum program quality assessments as a leading organization regarding quality care..
- Facilitate team discussions and collaborative planning meetings
- Review Individualized Support and Treatment Plans with new on site staff and/or supply staff and maintain documentation of these reviews
- Monitor classroom materials and communicate resource needs to the appropriate coordinator
**4. Family and Community Engagement**
- Develop and sustain strong, supportive relationships with families by maintaining open, respectful communication
- Respond to parent inquiries and ensure prompt follow-up regarding absences, health, and well-being
- Represent ELA professionally in relationships with school personnel (e.g., principals, educators, custodians) and community agencies (e.g., CMHA, KidsAbility)
- Ensure the parent communication board and all site postings are current and accessible

- Expertise in child development and early learning frameworks (ELECT, HDLH)
- Applied knowledge of licensing regulations and the Child Care Licensing Manual
- Strong written and verbal communication to engage with families, team members, and community partners
