**Warehouse Associate**

**Duties, Roles, and Responsibilities**

**Job Purpose**

The employee fulfilling this role is responsible for contributing to the success of the St. Vincent de Paul Stores through their diligence in the following duties and responsibilities, as required.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**

While reporting directly to the Assistant Manager - Intake and Distribution, the Warehouse Associate performs all the following:
**Customer Service**
- Always be courteous, polite, respectful, and helpful to the customers and those we serve.
- Always be visible on the sales floor.

**Colleague Care**
- Always be courteous, polite, respectful, and helpful to colleagues and management.
- Ensure you report on time for your scheduled shift.
- Ensure break times are followed and respected.
- Ensure you receive management approval for all shift change requests.
- Always be ready to assist colleagues in other sections, as may be required.
- Assist with development of new hires and cross train other employees, as necessary.
- Maintain a positive, healthy, and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.**Roles and Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Assistant Manager - Intake and Distribution, your roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

- Accepting donations at back door drop off area and delivering to designated areas.
- Maintaining shipping and receiving records when necessary.
- Emptying front drop off area (Wellington) as required and delivering to designated area.
- Assisting with garbage pick up.
- Transferring furniture to and from sales floor.
- Assisting customers to load purchases.
- Assisting truck driver, as assigned, with all pickups and deliveries in accordance with St. Vincent de Paul policies.
- Following all instructions given by the driver while on the road.
- Emptying trucks of donations and loading trucks for deliveries of other products.
- Undertaking minor maintenance, as required.
- Undertaking cleaning, as required.
- Assisting sorters, material handlers etc., as required.
- Keeping furniture holding area orderly.
- Maintaining a clean working environment.
- Other general warehousing duties as may be assigned from time to time.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to operate warehouse machinery.
- Ability to operate a fork-lift, if licensed.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Strong organizational skills

**Physical Requirements**
- Ability to lift items of a reasonable weight alone and heavier items with assistance.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work a varied schedule which may include working evenings and weekends on a rotational basis.
- Ability to work overtime hours to accommodate extraordinary activities or circumstances as may be necessary.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Nepean, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
