**Salary**: in accordance with the current CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement, the stipend rate for a half course (Y, F or S), inclusive of vacation pay, will be:
Sessional Lecturer I: $9,820.50
Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term (Six or more years as SL I): $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II: $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer III: $10,760.28
- Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail._
**Sessional Dates (excluding Exam period)**: F courses: Sep. 2 - Dec. 2, 2025
**Note**: all positions involve completion of any course grading not finished by December 31, 2025 for F courses.

**JOUA01H3F Introduction to Journalism and News Literacy I**
- An introduction to the social, historical, philosophical, and practical contexts of journalism. The course will examine the skills required to become news literate. The course will look at various types of media and the role of the journalist. Students will be introduced to specific techniques to distinguish reliable news from so-called fake news. Media coverage and analysis of current issues will be discussed.

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments and final portfolios; calculation and submission of grades; holding regular office hours.
Ph.D. with expertise in media, communication, or journalism studies. Strong academic record and professional promise; Ongoing research and publication record; Relevant teaching experience at the University level.
This job is posted in accordance with the CUPE 3902 Unit 3 Collective Agreement.
