**You are**
- A _**_Speech Language Pathologist_**. You will provide Pediatric services to First Nations’ Children in their home community as part of a Health Canada initiative, Jordan’s Principle. The position is based out of the SSCY Centre in Winnipeg and provides Pediatric SLP Services to First Nations communities on a drive-in or fly-in, itinerant basis. Visits will be made with an Occupational Therapist and/or a Physiotherapist. The portion of the position designated to Provincial Outreach Therapy for Children (POTC) is pediatric outreach services within the city of Winnipeg. All Services are provided with a family centered approach in a team based, consultative manner under the direction of the Clinical Manager.

Any hours above the 53rd parallel, including travel to and from communities, are paid a Northern Premium of 10% above the regular wage. Expenses are covered for all travel and overnight costs and other incentives may apply.

This position is.8 EFT Jordan’s Principle and.2 EFT POTC.

**Your Role**
- Therapy service delivery to families, caregivers and community settings regarding clinical issues in the therapist’s area of practice and pertaining to each child’s individual needs.
- Collect and review consumer information in order to initiate assessment.
- Select and administer appropriate evaluation procedures and tools.
- Interpret, document and communicate evaluation information through written and verbal reports.
- Participate in conferences/meetings pertinent to consumers specialized needs.
- Participate and contribute to the development of children’s programming through intake meetings/review meetings, IEP/ISP meetings.
- Complete monthly statistical records regarding consumer caseload, and submit mileage, additional expenditures, etc. in a timely manner.
- Establish effective collaborative relationships with consumers and collaterals.
- Demonstrate leadership within the team through identification of program/consumer needs, issues or service gaps, and participating on community committees, as requested.
- Conduct/assist in formal presentations and workshops.
- Maintain and replenish inventories of equipment, materials and supplies.
- Participate in student supervision or peer mentoring/supervision as requested.
- Participate/contribute regularly in meetings pertaining to program development and /or professional development.
- Complete CPR/First Aid training according to program requirements.
- Practice in compliance with Privacy legislation (i.e., PHIA, PHIPPA, PIPEDA). Collect and review consumer information in order to initiate assessment.

**What You Know**
- Registered with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM)
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in pediatrics
- Experience working in First Communities is an asset
- Experience with consultative/collaborative service delivery model
- Commitment to family-centered practice
- Strong organizational/communication skills with sensitivity to diversity
- Demonstrated basic knowledge and experience with computers
- Ability to work effectively as an interdisciplinary team member
- Physical health necessary to meet demands of the position
- Understanding of cultural safety and family centred care
- Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
- Willing to travel within Manitoba
