Lopes Limited is currently seeking a **Mechanical Piping Estimator / Coordinator**. The Mechanical Piping Estimator/Coordinator will be responsible proposal estimating, scheduling, planning, and coordination of Industrial projects of varying complexity and size.

**FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Complete full quantity take-off of all labour, materials and equipment required to complete the project as per contract specifications to ensure accuracy of pricing.
- Review scope of work prior to issuing to subcontractors and complete a gap/overlap analysis.
- Provide direction on the scope and requirements to the suppliers and sub contractors based on specifications included RFP document.
- Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers for labour, equipment, and material, to ascertain the most competitive price, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
- Review subcontractors pricing, inclusions, exclusions or qualifications for price evaluation and sub contractor selection.
- Responsible to identify execution risks with full comprehension of the tender documentation and developing project plans, to mitigate risks.
- Responsible for identifying pricing risks with full comprehension of the tender documentation and develop proposal terms and conditions to support/defend pricing and mitigate risks.
- Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Estimate preparation for costs of labour, equipment, materials, subcontracts and produce a final tender submission.
- Collaborate with Estimating Team to prepare bid pricing documents, schedules, and project execution plans.
- Complete a final bid submission review and oversee the final tender document submission to the client.
- Work with the Client Contract Administrators to provide clarification as and when required during the post tender/pre award stage.
- Occasionally travel to job sites for bid and project kick off meetings.
- Adhere to all Company and Client policies and procedures.
- Work in conjunction with the Project Manager in the day-to-day duties of project administration.
- Act as liaison with subcontractors in expediting drawings and related information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs (RFI, VDS, drawing list etc.), track responses and advise of the status of RFIs.
- Obtain and submit quotations for changes to project scope.
- Coordinate submittals and compile all close-out documents including quality packages and Operating and Maintenance Manuals.
- Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline
- Experience in the piping construction industry, including estimating considered an asset.
- Knowledge of key software and productivity tools such as MS Office (particularly Excel), Adobe Reader, NAVIS Works, and Primavera P6.
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and sustain productivity over long hours in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, approachable and customer-service oriented.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Superior problem-solving skills.
- A desire for continuous improvement.
- Valid Driver’s license class G.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skill.
