Vancouver, Canada Yaletown House Society Full time

Yaletown House is a non profit care facility for seniors with complex care needs and is located in Vancouver, BC. We provide quality health care and services to 127 senior residents in a safe, supportive and home like environment.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Perform housekeeping on resident floor(s) and other areas as assigned, using established procedures.
- Cleans areas such as floors, stairways, walls, window and walkways by methods such as sweeping, spot washing and damp mopping.
- Cleans carpets and rugs by methods such as vacuuming, brushing and shaking.
- Cleans items such as furniture, woodwork, ledges, fixtures and blinds by methods such as dusting, polishing and wiping.
- Cleans and disinfects washrooms and replenishes items such as soap and paper towels.
- Empties and cleans waste containers.
- Re-lock resident room doors after cleaning according to security procedures.
- Performs terminal cleaning of vacant rooms by cleaning floors and walls by activities such as damp mopping and spot washing. Identifies repair needs and reports to supervisor. Strips and makes beds; cleans and tidies items such as cupboards, basins and tables.
- Reports damaged, inoperable fixtures, furniture and safety concerns by means of filling out a maintenance requisition. Reports unsafe or faulty equipment and safety concerns to supervisor or designate.
- Maintains related equipment by cleaning and replacing items such as filter bags.
- Restocks utility rooms and housekeeping carts.
- Completes and signs resident room checklist and audit sheets.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Grade 10, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**:

- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $21.91 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Strong preventative measures are in place that are in accordance with the Provincial Guidelines for LTC Homes. All staff are screened for signs of illness including COVID-19 at start of shift. All staff must wear PPE & be fully immunized against COVID-19.
