Hip-Hop Dance Instructor for Preschool (3-5) and School Age (6-8yrs)

Location: Mooredale House - 146 Crescent Rd

Contract: Fridays September 13th to December 13th, 2024, beginning again in January until end of school year

3:00 - 4:00 pm - Preschool Class

4:00 - 5:00pm - School Age

2 hours per week $75-$100.00 an hour based on experience.

**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Class Instruction**: Teach hip hop dance classes to preschoolers (ages 3-5) and early elementary students (ages 6-8) with age-appropriate choreography, music, and activities.
- **Curriculum Development**: Design and implement a creative and structured dance curriculum that aligns with developmental milestones and keeps young dancers motivated and engaged.
- **Class Management**: Maintain a positive, supportive, and safe environment for students. Manage classroom behavior and foster a sense of teamwork and respect among students.
- **Performance Preparation**: Prepare students for recitals, showcases, or performances by organizing rehearsals and ensuring students are confident and performance-ready.
- **Communication**: Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress, class updates, and any issues that arise. Provide feedback and encouragement to both students and parents.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with other instructors and staff to coordinate class schedules, events, and any special projects or initiatives.
- **Professional Development**: Stay updated with current trends in hip hop dance and early childhood education. Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

**Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Previous experience teaching dance to young children, particularly in hip hop, is preferred. A background in early childhood education is a plus.
- **Skills**: Strong understanding of hip hop dance techniques and trends. Ability to create age-appropriate choreography and adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
- **Personality**: Energetic, enthusiastic, and patient with a passion for working with young children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- **Education**: Relevant certification or degree in dance, early childhood education, or a related field is preferred.
- **Additional Requirements**: Ability to obtain background checks and child protection certifications as required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $75.00-$100.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 per week
