Electrical Estimator

If so, this opportunity is for you**_ This position reports to the Owner and requires a high degree of attention to detail, time management, organization, problem solving and the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

**Responsibilities**

As an **Electrical Estimator** your responsibilities include:

- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, other trades, and coworkers.
- Actively seek out new clients and projects - informing potential and existing clients of the full scope of 1st Electric Inc.’s products and services.
- Conduct site visits to determine scope of job and all required information to provide an accurate estimate, work packages and completion of work.
- Estimation of time, material and labour requirements for residential and solar projects.
- Perform all tasks related to quoting of Generac generator installations.
- Provide support for bonding and insurance document requirements.
- Reading and interpreting drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications, to determine layout of electrical equipment installations.
- Planning layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures based on specifications. Inspect electrical systems, components and equipment to identify defects and to ensure compliance with codes.
- Complying and adhering to 1st Electric Inc.’s Health and Safety Program and industry safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Red Seal Journeyperson certification preferred.
- Experience in residential electrical estimating considered an asset.
- Solar and/or generator experience considered an asset.
- Experience using Bluebeam, Accubid and other estimating software considered an asset.
- Project management experience considered an asset.
- Ability to estimate smaller electrical jobs without drawings.
- Ability to estimate smaller to larger projects with drawings.
- Knowledge of electrical & construction techniques and sequences.
- Ability to read and understand Electrical & Construction documents (e.g., tender drawings, tender specifications).
- Aptitude to perform all required electrical formulas.
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Extensive knowledge in residential electrical codes and practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Must be able to work within strict deadlines.
- Must have a valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
- Must be able to travel including travelling to remote sites.
- Customer relations experience required.
