**CNC Programmer/Operator**

This position has responsibilities for the set up and operation of CNC ANCA, mills, lathes and/or edge-prep machines as listed and required in the essential duties and responsibilities section.

**Job Type: Full Time, Permanent**

**Location: Montreal, QC, Canada**

**Job description**
- Must have a basic knowledge and the willingness to learn to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, three-dimensional CAD drawings, charts and tables.
- Establish machining operations to be performed by calculating dimensions & tolerances.
- Determine correct jigs and fixtures as required for efficient manufacture of parts.
- Follow production instructions of supervisor to ensure quality.
- Loads, unloads parts to and from machine and maintains appropriate monitoring of operations to assure proper machine functioning to finish parts.
- Checks parts periodically during operations to verify conformance to specifications using prescribed precision measuring devices like micrometers, Vernier or Zoller measuring machine.
- Maintain and calibrate measuring instruments.
- Report and record non-conformities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the operations.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- College diploma or completion of certified apprenticeship program an asset.
- Three years of machining experience, conventional and CNC working to close and medium tolerances, in a machine shop or toolroom environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good understanding of cutting tool geometry and vocabulary.
- Able to work well with others as well as with mínimal supervision.
- Previous work experience with: Turning, Milling, grinding machining centers is an asset.
- Solid understanding of proper Health and Safety workplace practices
- Must be able to communicate in English. (Knowledge of French is an asset)
