Members of JANA’s Product Team, under the direction of the Director, Product and in heavy collaboration with JANA’s Software Development Teams, JANA’s Data Product Manager is responsible for driving the development and management of data-centric products and solutions. The role will involve understanding the needs of both internal and external clients, defining product requirements, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative data products that meet market demands and drive business growth.
**Responsibilities**:
- Understands the Jobs to Be Done theory and uses it to understand clients’ needs better than the clients understand it themselves
- Product Strategy: Develop and execute the data product strategy aligned with business goals and customer needs. Identify market opportunities, conduct market research, and stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data technologies.
- Product Definition and Roadmap: Define product vision, goals, and features. Create and maintain a product roadmap that outlines the product's strategic direction and priorities. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into clear product specifications.
- Client Insights: Conduct research, analyze client needs, and gather feedback to inform product decisions. Identify client pain points and opportunities for innovation. Use data-driven insights to prioritize features and enhancements.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, data scientists, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful development and delivery of data products. Collaborate on technical feasibility, prioritize development efforts, and manage the product development lifecycle.
- Agile Product Development: Employ agile methodologies to manage product development processes, including sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative product releases. Ensure efficient coordination between development teams and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
- Product Launch and Adoption: Develop go-to-market strategies, product documentation, and marketing collateral to support product launches. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to drive product adoption, user engagement, and customer satisfaction.
- Performance Tracking and Analysis: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure product success. Monitor and analyze product performance, user behavior, and customer feedback. Use insights to drive product enhancements and iterate on product strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, customers, partners, and vendors. Effectively communicate product vision, updates, and progress. Build strong relationships and manage expectations.
Required Skills and Experience
- Working knowledge of Jobs-to-be-done theory and other requirement definition frameworks
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years experience in product management in the data field. Demonstrated success in bringing data products or data-driven solutions to market.
- Data and Analytics Knowledge: Strong understanding of data concepts, analytics, and data-driven decision-making. Familiarity with data technologies, such as data warehouses, data lakes, and business intelligence tools.
