The Edmonton Chamber of Commerce (Chamber) is the official voice of business in the Capital Region. With thousands of business and corporate members, we are one of the largest chambers in Canada and among the most influential business organizations in the country. The Chamber fosters and supports the business environment in the Edmonton region through advocacy to all levels of government, education and support opportunities, and connection to local and business communities.
Reporting to the Director, Events, the Sponsorship and Partnership Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining sponsorship levels that support the Chambers financial objectives as well as working with strategic partners and sponsors to promote and elevate their brand to the Edmonton Business Community. This position has direct contact with all Chamber team members, our members, non members, sponsors and suppliers.
**What will you do?**
- Prospect potential sponsors/partners as required for all current and proposed events, understanding their goals and objectives to make meaningful connections and viable opportunities.
- Provide onboarding services to new sponsors.
- Perform schedules sponsor/partner engagement through in-person visits and or recovery calls as required.
- Promote public awareness of Edmonton Chamber programs and services that drive the Edmonton business community.
- Develop and implement sponsorship sales plans to meet and increase yearly sponsorship revenue targets.
- Complete sponsor agreements for director approval.
- Provide detailed sponsor/partner contract information to team members in a timely manner.
- Collect speaker and venue hosting requests, reporting on opportunities and responding to requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain sponsorship/partnership program guidelines to increase sponsorship recruitment, satisfaction, and support.
- Maintain sponsorship/partnership activities including prospecting, proposals, presentations, targeted outreach, contract revisions and servicing sponsor follow-up.
- Work with the team to identify member businesses associated with sponsorship/partnership to ensure alignment of their business goals and increase member satisfaction.
- Communicate sponsor/partner feedback and insights to events team members in a timely manner for event wrap up/debrief.
- Engage/support all sponsors to meet contractual requirements including set up/tear-down of banners, etc., and seek payment from sponsors as per the terms of the contract.
- Other duties as assigned.
**What do I need to succeed?**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Admin or Marketing or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum 3 to 4 years' experience working in a membership or customer focused organization, with experience aligning product and service solutions to meet member needs. Previous experience in a sponsorship role is preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing personality.
- Ability to foster and maintain trusting and dependable working relationships.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills (both written and verbal) with a high degree of professionalism.
- Sales and service oriented with a demonstrated ability to proactively listen, identify sales opportunities and solve problems.
- Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
- Adaptability and flexibility to anticipate and respond to the needs of a fast-paced working environment.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently on individual assigned tasks, as well as ability to work in a team environment.
- Microsoft Proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word required.
- Availability to include some evenings.
- Valid Driver's license and reliable vehicle required.
