310t Bus and Coach Technician

**Position Title: 310T Mechanic**

The Coach Technician will be required to maintain and service the various types of vehicles that operate in Coach Canada. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to Ministry of Transportation legislated requirements. The Coach Technician must have a mechanical license 310T as well as a valid Ontario Driver’s License (BZ) and have experience in Detroit and Cummins diesel engine repair, drivetrains, brake systems, brake retarders, suspension/steering, electrical/electronic systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, wheelchair lifts and ramps.

**Roles and **Responsibilities**
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable motor vehicle legislation, safety regulations, WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ability to read and interpret various technical manuals.
- Ability to diagnose vehicle malfunctions and identify deficiencies in vehicle components, performance or quality of repair, service or preventative maintenance work performance
- Working knowledge of transit equipment including electronic fareboxes, destination signs, communication equipment and GPS technology
- Posses organizational skills to set priorities and meet required deadlines
- Will be required to attend courses to upgrade skill levels in computers, maintenance, first aid, WHIMS and other courses as defined by the Company.
- Must be knowledgeable of the operation and servicing of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment installed in the vehicles
- Computer proficiency in Lotus Notes, the Internet** **and the AS400.
- Must be able to multi-task

**Main Qualifications**
- A valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician License
- Valid Passport
- GZ license required
- BZ considered an asset
- Coach and Bus Mechanic experience
- Experience in repair and service of diesel equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Language: English
- Proven track record in safe work practices
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, respond to emergency calls and works well under pressure

**Physical Requirements**
- Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling
- Reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift articles up to 50 lbs.

**Qualifications**:

- possèdera des qualifications en tant que technicien de camion diesel et/ou d'autobus
- sera en possession d'un permis de conduire Classe 2 Québec valable, sans infractions graves
- possèdera une connaissance profonde des règlements de la SAAQ et SIMDUT
- pourra travailler différents horaires y compris des périodes de travail rotatifs
- devra entreprendre plusieurs tâches à la fois dans un environnement intense et énergétique
- aura des connaissances profondes d'ordinateur, d'organisation et de communication
- de l'expérience dans le domaine de transport est un avantage
- possèdera une écriture nette et sera capable de remplir les bordereaux de travail et de compléter les documents requis
- de l'expérience dans l'entretien préventif d'un parc de véhicules dans le domaine de l'industrie d'autobus est un avantage

Être capable de communiquer oralement en Français et en Anglais aura la préférence
