We are looking for a Site Operations and Maintenance Manager to support our Real Property Planning and Management Branch. The Site Operations and Maintenance Manager (SOM) would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.

As part of the RPPM Operations and Maintenance directorate, the Site Operations and Maintenance Manager (SOM) is the client’s primary point of contact and position responsible for all building operations, preventive and corrective maintenance services and site requirements.

The SOM is responsible for planning, contracting and coordinating the delivery of building and site services including general maintenance, inspection, and monitoring. These services include but are not limited to the following; chilled water, steam, compressed air, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, electrical services, fire alarm and life safety systems.
In addition, the SOM is responsible for coordinating aspects of the security, environmental issues, land management, utilities and building safety and health requirements in support of the client’s programs and business operational needs.

The SOM plays a key role in the NRC building infrastructure recapitalization program. The SOM has the autonomy to identify and prioritize recapitalization projects for the entire site for discussion and approval by the Director of Engineering and Construction. These projects often have components that require high technical knowledge such as building automation systems, energy recovery systems, complex research equipment, and other advanced building technologies.

**Education**:
Completion of a three-year community college diploma in Civil, Structural, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering Technology.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience could be considered.

**Experience**:

- Experience with planning, contracting and coordinating the delivery of building and site services including general maintenance, inspection, and monitoring.
- Experience managing performance of staff and actively coaching, mentoring and motivating employees and providing regular feedback on assigned work.
- Experience ensuring building, facility and site operations compliance with applicable federal, provincial and/or local regulatory requirements including building and construction codes and environment related act.
- Experience managing construction projects.
- Experience managing budget for operation, maintenance and construction projects.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve site and building issues; to prioritize and manage client requests for services; to formulate recommendations for site enhancements and upgrades; to validate compliance with standards.
- Experience preparing Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Quotation (RFQ) and/or Statements of Work (SOW) for multi-year service contracts.

**The following experience might be considered as an asset**:

- Experience in managing research buildings and facilities which may include specialized labs.
- Experience and knowledge of commissioning, re-commissioning and retro-commissioning best practices and industry standards.

**Competency Profile(s)**:

From $87,748 to $103,651 per annum.
