**Duties**:

- Design, implement and instruct a modular course for the Literacy and Basic Skills course
- Conduct a needs assessment at the beginning of the program.
- Design and plan module plans and lessons based on learners’ needs and skill level in support of the overall course curricula.
- Deliver a variety of course curriculum exercises for different levels of ability.
- Conduct evaluation feedback surveys for curriculum and delivery and make recommendations for change.
- Prepare course materials and handouts for learners.
- Monitor and document learner’s participation and progress.
- Report to the program manager, provide updates, share issues or concerns.

**Qualifications**:

- TESL ON certificate from an accredited institution recognized by TESL Ontario.
- Minimum 3 years of experience teaching English as a Second Language to adult newcomers.
- In-depth understanding of and experience using the Revised Canadian Language Benchmarks 2012 and the LINC Curriculum Guidelines.
- Experience providing online training will be an asset.
- Ability to adapt teaching methodology to the needs/skill levels of individual learners.
- Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a multicultural environment.
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of adult immigrants and refugees.
- Ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills.

**Starting Salary Range**:

- $38.54 per hour
