The Laundry Aide performs the assigned duties related to processing, and mending of linen and laundry. The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients/residents, families, visitors and staff. Courteous service is a critical component to this position. The position of Laundry Aide/Housekeeping Aide functions in a manner consistent with, and supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority. **Qualifications**: - Minimum Grade 10 education required. - Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English. - Previous related experience. - Experience in health care or institutional cleaning. - Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to perform mental and physical aspects of the position. - Satisfactory employment record. **As a condition of employment, all successful applicants will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check (with vulnerable sector screening), adult abuse and child abuse registry checks prior to commencing employment.** **Direct care workers are required to either be vaccinated for Covid-19 or to participate in on-going regular Covid-19 testing pursuant to Orders made under The Public Health Act C.C.S.M. c.P210. Successful applicants will be notified at the time of offer of the applicability of this requirement for this position.** Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to communicate in more than one language would be considered an asset. Proficiency of both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
