Recreation Aide

This position is for our Laurier Manor Home, located in 1715 Montreal Rd, Ottawa, Ontario.

Available opportunities include Full-Time Evenings (12:00-20:00), including 2 weekends per month.

What you’ll be doing:

- Plan, implement, evaluate, develop, and revise both individual and group activation programs based on assessed needs under the guidance of the Supervisor.
- Set up and clean activity area as necessary and transport residents to and from programs.
- Monitor the behavior and condition of residents during programs and report any significant changes to the Supervisor and nursing staff as appropriate.
- Maintain program and resident records according to department policy. Communicate participation by residents to registered staff.

What you bring:

- Proof of successful completion of an approved Recreation and Leisure Services /Gerontology Diploma or Degree program required.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, care planning, resident assessments, implementation, and evaluation for geriatric population especially those cognitively impaired.
