**SPECIALIST, ASSET SALES & PURCHASING**

Reporting to the Director of Fleet, the Specialist, Asset Sales & Purchasing will be responsible for the full process of liquidating all assets and managing the sales process of all assets. The Specialist, Asset Sales & Purchasing will ensure Sigfusson Northern’s fleet inventory aligns with current needs for production on all job sites and will collaborate with all departments as required. This position will be located in Lundar, MB.
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES**:
- Provide recommendations for the sale of assets, purchase, lease, or rental of equipment, vehicles, tools, and supplies to the Director of Fleet.
- Determine the best method of equipment disposal and manage the complete sales process.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability.
- Negotiate with customers to close deals and achieve sales targets.
- Responsible to ensure funds are received once an asset is sold.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, sales, and customer interactions.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to buying and selling of assets, along with Sigfusson Northern internal policies and procedures.
- Ensures all unit file information is updated and filed correctly in Sigfusson Northern’s systems.
- Manage all brokerage services required for importing & exporting assets.
- Monitor and analyze market conditions to determine the best option for selling and buying equipment.
- Manage and maintain all external fleet rentals of Sigfusson Northern assets.
- Ensure updated equipment lists are maintained including serial numbers, equipment numbers, descriptions, photos, and locations.
- Assist with the yearly fleet audit.
- Responsible for setting values of all assets for annual insurance renewals.
- Participate in departmental business planning cycle related to fleet.
- Responsible for the preparation, recommendation, and adherence to a departmental budget.
- Develop and recommend used equipment liquidation policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental and team specific meetings on a weekly basis.
- Identify and recommend opportunities that will reduce Sigfusson Northern’s total cost of ownership and/or increase Sigfusson Northern’s profitability and efficiency.
- Source and locate rentals and purchases for special requests.
- Monitor and track available equipment and utilization rates.
- Build and maintain replacement forecasts based on life cycle forecast and operational needs.
- Develop, review, and recommend department policies and procedures related to the buying and selling of Sigfusson Northern assets.
- Participate in continuous learning and development regarding technological developments.
- Inspect equipment or arrange for inspection of equipment prior to purchases.
- Collaborate and work with the Sigfusson Northern Trucking department to move equipment.
- Build and maintain a large network of industry contacts, salespeople, contractors, and brokers.
- Collaborate and liaise with Sigfusson Northern’s Operations team to assess needs and ensure alignment to make better decisions in future buying practices.
- Develop specification on what is required to help with search and sourcing of assets.
- Ad hoc duties as required by the Director, Fleet.
**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS**:
- Experience in a high-volume sales role will be considered an asset.
- Experience working in the construction industry will be considered an asset.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and equipment lifecycles.
- Ability to build relationships and provide strong customer service.
- Must possess strong negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes and practices.
- Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written as well as electronically.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to provide a clear security clearance check.
- Ability to travel on a regular basis to events, conferences, and auctions etc.
- Effective decision-making abilities.
