**Our Opportunity**:
We have an opportunity available for a permanent, full-time, Retail Sales Associate at our St. Catharines retail store, located at 340 Welland Avenue. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, has a passion for books and reading, can actively communicate their love of books and is keen to make a positive contribution to our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide a high level of prompt and friendly customer service by engaging and inspiring our customers on the sales floor
- Develop and maintain a positive company image by efficiently and accurately interacting with customers
- Demonstrate sincere empathy and patience with all customers
- Carry out cashier duties
- Maintain a clean and organized storefront
- Leverage our product to tell stories
- Curate specific product collections for each customer you meet
- Replenish product on displays and shelves
- Uphold safe work practices in accordance with Book Outlet’s Health and Safety Program
- Other related responsibilities as required, including some light warehouse and cleaning duties, such as team member and public washrooms
- Keyholder duties such as opening and closing, counting tills, etc.
- Assumes the role of Manager on Duty if Retail Store Manager and Assistant Retail Store Manager are not available

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

- 2+ years’ retail sales experience
- OSSD or equivalent
- High-energy, friendly personality, and a positive attitude
- Punctual and strong work ethic
- Basic computer skills
- Agility/Multi-tasking skills
- Hands-on and eager to lead by example
- A desire to grow and continually learn
- Logical thinking and prioritizing skills
- Enjoy working with the public and problem solving
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to objectively interpret and grasp unique situations based on varying customer behavior
