Under the guidance of the Manager, Authorizations Compliance Integration and using sound project management principles, the Compliance Integration Specialist leads and coordinates the development and implementation of enterprise-wide monitoring and compliance programs to support port-wide compliance with VFPA authorizations. This role works directly with key departments within VFPA and external consultants to develop and implement monitoring and compliance frameworks based on identified best practices.

With the guidance of the Manager, Authorizations Compliance Integration, this role (1) collaborates with and guides VFPA departments in their monitoring and compliance programs; (2) develops processes and business requirements for an enterprise-level case management system framework; and (3) develops proposed processes to support the collection of metrics for performance measurement.

Working with the Health, Safety & Security teams and VFPA compliance seeking functions, this position supports the escalation of non-compliance files to inform ongoing program development and coordinates data collection for dashboard reporting and VFPA continuous improvement. This position also supports the Port of Vancouver safety, security and port resiliency stakeholder communication and engagement initiatives for Health, Safety & Security.

The Compliance Integration Specialist will be responsible to:

- Develop monitoring, compliance and escalation process workflows to align with VFPA’s monitoring and compliance directives and enforcement program framework
- Ensure that the monitoring and compliance approach and activities undertaken by VFPA departments are documented and followed
- Lead the integration of VFPA departmental monitoring and compliance programs within VFPA’s business operations and ensure that process workflows are coordinated and aligned with VFPA’s best practices and enforcement program framework
- Develop and deliver education and training on monitoring and compliance principles and processes to align with VFPA’s monitoring and compliance directives
- Develop and deliver internal communication plans to support and enhance enterprise-wide monitoring and compliance programs within the organization
- Review compliance projects and files to develop and recommend strategies for file resolution with VFPA departments
- Support the Manager, Authorizations Compliance Integration in delivering enterprise-wide monitoring and compliance programs for VFPA.
- Facilitate and participate in the consultant selection process, when required. Negotiate and prepare contracts, ensure proper delivery and appropriate sign off. Recommend approval of change orders, liaise with, direct, and approve all phases of consulting work.
- Prepare, maintain and use central repository for all project management documentation.
- Monitor and track individual project activities and progress and ensure the project team is focused on delivery.
- Contribute to and administer the planning and delivery of VFPA’s Project Management Framework, which includes project management systems, processes, practices and tools.
