_**That Corner Store**_ is a chic convenience store in the heart of the growing community of Barrhaven, in the city of Ottawa. It's a family-owned business with a fantastic operational team.

That Corner Store is looking for an operating manager to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated individual, self-drive and willing to take on the challenge to grow this brand-new, family-owned business.

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies;
- Research and develop a merchandising strategy including sale price and promotions;
- Champion the supply chain management;
- Research current industry trends to determine consumer demand;
- Conduct competitor research and convert it into actionable strategy;
- Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints, and supply shortages;
- Implement loss prevention strategies;
- Stay proactive to improve all elements of business;
- Manage staff and own scheduling of the staff;
- Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers;
- Conduct training for new staff and refreshers for existing staff;
- Organize daily operations - opening, closing, inventory management, equipment, and premises maintenance;
- Ensure all safety protocols are in place.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- A minimum of two years of experience in a grocery/retail environment - Convenience store experience is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Experience with supply chain management.
- Ability to derive marketing and sales strategy.
- Experience with promotions and advertising to increase sales.
- Experience working with point-of-sale systems.
- Strong knowledge of grocery operating principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail
- Proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and superior customer service skills
- Demonstrates a personal and enthusiastic commitment towards the growth of That Corner Store.
- Highly motivated and adventurous with an appreciation for start-up, family-owned business.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- On call
- Weekends as needed
