**JOB DESCRIPTION**
We are looking to amplify our impact and are currently looking for a Staff Writer. In the Staff Writer role, you will be responsible for writing daily content across the Goalcast website's different verticals. Collaborating with editors and other writers, you will be expected to produce well-written, engaging, and highly clickable SEO-optimized content while following the company's writing style. Success in this position will be demonstrated by delivering high-quality content to increase overall readership and engagement, all while maintaining brand identity.
**What you will be working on**:

- Produce day-to-day content aimed to motivate, inspire, and uplift our audience
- Create content that is factually accurate, engaging, and on-brand
- Follow and keep up to date with current & interesting pop culture and social trends
- Uphold journalism ethics and standards
- Attend meetings, pitch stories, and understand Goalcast's overall vision and mission

**What you will bring**:

- New story angles, pitches, and content ideas
- Valuable observation skills
- Broad knowledge of headlines, angles, and packaging
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Strong interest in motivational initiatives

**What you will need**:

- Understanding of SEO practices and on-site data analytics
- Research and primary sourcing experience
- Computer proficiency (WordPress, Yoast SEO, content editing, Google Analytics, Slack, Zoom, and other digital tools)
- The ability to learn and potentially quickly turn around content from pitch to product
- Minimum 1-3 years of professional writing experience
- Deep understanding of writing styles
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Outstanding English writing skills
- Demonstrable published articles portfolio
- Knowledge of current events
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, or relevant field
- CV and cover letter
