We are a brand new pizza and sandwich shop in downtown Victoria, BC.

We have positions available for 2 front counter staff members to join our growing team.

Counter Staff Job Description

**Duties**:

- Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash transactions, including processing payments, giving change, and issuing receipts.
- Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the counter area, including wiping down surfaces, restocking supplies, and sanitizing equipment.
- Assist with food preparation tasks, such as slicing vegetables or assembling sandwiches.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely order fulfillment and maintain smooth operations.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in food service or customer service is preferred.
- Knowledge of POS systems for order processing and cash handling is a plus.
- Ability to handle food safely and follow proper hygiene practices.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and order calculations.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with coworkers.

Please note that this position may require standing for long periods of time and occasional lifting of heavy objects. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

Additional pay:

- Bonus pay

Flexible language requirement:

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Victoria, BC V8W 1H2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
