**Job description**

Dr. Vetamin is proud to be Ottawa's first and only mobile veterinary clinic, starting its journey in December 2022. Our mobile office is backed up with our Primary and Urgent Care Veterinary Hospital offering a wide range of services from routine check ups to emergency care.

Dr-Vetamin is looking for an experienced, dedicated, and ambitious veterinary technician to join our team for our Mobile Clinic. Our clients meet us in our clinic which stops at their doorstep and all of our pet friends experience the new Anxiety-Free Veterinary Care. Our Mobile Clinic offers a full range of veterinary care right within our 25-feet modified RV including Ultrasound, Cytology, Comprehensive Blood work, and Urinalysis. We offer all pharmaceuticals and prescription foods to our clients right at their door steps.

**Duties**:
Your primary responsibility is to assist our veterinarians with their daily consults and procedures performed on-site or at our partner clinics. Key responsibilities are:

- Manage appointments, obtain histories and update patients' information.
- Documentation of medical records.
- Handle incoming calls and perform follow-up calls
- Calculating drug doses and administering medications IV, IM, SC, and/or PO.
- Possessing excellent knowledge of medications and drug interactions/side effects/contraindications
- Performing laboratory procedures (Familiarity with IDEXX equipment is an asset)
- Assist with ultrasound and radiology procedures.
- Experience with anaesthetic delivery, support, and monitoring equipment
- Patient discharge and client education.
- Cleaning and sterilization of equipment
- General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of treatment and common areas
- Willingness to learn more regarding our ongoing expanding services.
- Compassion and nurturing attitude and exceptional client service skills
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Ability to multi-task

**Requirements**:

- Veterinary Technician college diploma
- Minimum 2 years of experience
- Familiar with CPR concept and procedures
- Able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.
- Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Oral)
- G driving license
- Experience in driving an RV is an asset

**Working conditions**:

- Employees are required to work evening, holiday and weekend shifts
- Employees will be required to work off-site across the City of Ottawa in tight working conditions
- Employees will be required to stand for long periods of time while performing work requiring concentration and manual dexterity
- Employment is conditional upon having and maintaining a valid driver’s license
- Employee may be required to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Employee will be required to wear a uniform designated by the employer
- Employment is conditional upon maintaining the confidentiality
- Employment is conditional upon the ability to work around companion animals safely

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $23.50-$25.50 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 20 per week
