**Geotechnical Driller**

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate and maintain geotechnical drilling rigs (e.g., CME, Diedrich, or similar) to perform soil and rock sampling.
- Conduct geotechnical and environmental drilling operations, including SPT, Shelby tube sampling, and core drilling.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project specifications.
- Supervise and train driller helpers on-site.
- Maintain accurate drilling logs and report project progress to supervisors.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on drilling equipment.
- Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and project managers to meet project objectives.

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a geotechnical driller.
- Valid G driver’s license; DZ license an asset.
- Familiarity with geotechnical drilling techniques and equipment.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety standards (e.g., OHSA).
- Ability to work in physically demanding outdoor conditions and travel to project sites in Ottawa and surrounding areas.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Team player with excellent communication skills.

**Driller Helper**

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the geotechnical driller in setting up and operating drilling rigs.
- Handle and prepare drilling tools, samples, and materials.
- Support site preparation and cleanup activities.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and basic repairs under supervision.
- Record basic drilling data and report to the driller.

**Qualifications**:

- No prior experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Valid G driver’s license.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Interest in geotechnical or environmental drilling as a career.
