**BEHAVIORAL ASSESSMENT**:
**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Startec Compression & Process is currently recruiting an **Apprentice** **Instrumentation Technician** to work at our Shepard Shop (_9423 Shepard Rd SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 4R6)_. The Apprentice Instrumentation Technician will support the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers. This role involves hands-on learning and active participation in a variety of projects, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Shift Details: 4:20 p.m. - 2:30 a.m._ (4 days/week,10 hours/day). Overtime is as required_

**KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)**:
**INSTRUMENTATION & ASSEMBLY**(Weighting 40%)**:
**_ Tubing & Instrumentation Installation_**:

- Fabrication and installation of tubing
- Fabricate and install tubing raceway
- Mount and Install instruments

**_ Design_**:

- Skid layout using P&ID's, GA's
- Work closely with other trades to optimize the design of units

**TESTING, CALIBRATION, & MAINTENANCE**(Weighting 30%)**:
**_ Precision Testing_**:

- Test accuracy of flow meters, pressure gages, temperature indicators, controllers, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments.
- Regularly calibrate instrumentation to ensure accurate readings and compliance with industry standards.

**_ Operational Integrity_**:

- Diagnose and repair faults in instrumentation and control systems to maintain operational efficiency.
- Keep detailed records of all installation, testing, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

- Professional interaction with internal customers, vendors, customer representatives, and inspectors.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations

- Foster an environment of continuous improvement.
- Participate in training programs: Engage in ongoing training and development to stay current with new technologies, standards, and best practices in instrumentation.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Instrumentation Technician Apprentice 3rd year or greater.
- 2 years of industrial instrument construction/manufacturing experience.
- Fabrication Shop experience and asset
- Strong instrument and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Well organized, excellent communication skills, work well in a team environment.
- Applicable tooling required
