**Quality Assurance (QA) Technician**

**BAE Food Group - Leduc, Alberta**

**Position Summary**

As a QA Technician at **BAE Food Group**, you will play a key role in maintaining and upholding the food safety and quality standards of our federally inspected facility. You will be responsible for inspecting in-process and finished meat products to ensure they meet internal, customer, and CFIA regulatory requirements. Reporting to the QA Supervisor or Manager, you will work alongside production teams to identify quality issues, document findings, and drive continuous improvement.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perform inspections and quality audits on raw materials, in-process, and finished products
- Monitor packaging, label accuracy, and product quality on the production line
- Operate and calibrate inspection tools (e.g., thermometers, scales, pH meters)
- Verify adherence to GMP, HACCP, CFIA, and SQF standards
- Accurately complete QA documentation and maintain traceability records
- Communicate any quality or food safety deviations to production and QA leadership
- Participate in root-cause investigations and implement corrective/preventive actions
- Support customer audits and internal regulatory inspections
- Ensure sanitary conditions are maintained on the production floor

**Qualifications & Skills**
- 1+ year of experience in QA or food safety in a food processing or manufacturing facility
- Familiarity with HACCP plans, GMPs, SQF, and CFIA regulatory compliance
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, data entry systems)

**Working Conditions**
- Fast-paced, cold/hot production environment (PPE provided)
- Standing, walking, and conducting inspections throughout the shift
- Flexible to work different shifts and occasional weekends if needed

Pay: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

- Leduc, AB T9E 8T2: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- meat processing: 1 year (preferred)
- food processing: 1 year (preferred)
