**Position Overview**:
Operates a cube-van for transportation and delivery of goods and materials. Loads and unloads the truck as well as works in the shipping department as required in accordance with plant policies and procedures in compliance with safety policies.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Transports loads and unloads material at customer locations according to specified delivery locations and times;
- Performs trip inspections on equipment operated and loaded, ensuring safety and roadworthiness;
- Maneuvers trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; checks that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned;
- Inspects trucks for mechanical items and safety issues, and ensures emergency equipment is in good working order;
- Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles to the Department Supervisor;
- Verifies that all load-related documentation are complete and accurate;
- Maintains positive working relationships with delivery locations;
- Performs periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and secured;
- Ensures material is properly protected from the outdoor elements;
- Delivers product and proper paperwork to customers in a courteous and timely manner;
- Maintains truck’s overall service and perform required inspections;
- Completes all necessary paperwork, including but not limited to: daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.;
- Adheres to and respects all driving and transportation legislation;
- Daily shift start and end times can vary depending on customer delivery route. Some overnight stays may be required.
- Assists shipping department as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Possesses a valid G license for longer than a year.
- Clean driver’s abstract.
- Ability to work non-standard work hours and travel regularly.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
