**Production Technician**

**Reports To**:Production Manager

**Position Overview**:
Santec Canada is looking to hire a Production Technician to the team. The purpose of this position is to assemble, test and repair fiberoptic units to meet quality standards and customer satisfaction. This Production Technician will focus on optical alignment and soldering while ensuring that all work is completed in a professional and timely manner and while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Optical alignment
- Soldering (Surface mount technology)
- Splice fiberoptic cable
- Crimp cables
- Prepare and assemble units and parts of varying complexity
- Arrange and organize optical fiber inside units
- Test and troubleshoot products and record results
- Create test reports
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Perform other job related duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Must have skills in optical alignment and/or soldering (SMT)
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity
- Time management skills
- Ability to work as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills in MS Word and Excel
