The position will include, but is not limited to:

- Collaborating with the Assistant Camp Coordinator and Camp Director along with Admin, Camp Leaders, and Volunteers
- Helping to train and mentor staff and volunteers in an engaging and efficient way
- Helping to supervise camp to ensure everyone's safety, wellness, and engagement
- Ensuring everyone's safety in and around the water. We swim almost every day at lakes and pools.
- Collaboratively leading games and activities
- Developing a safe, inclusive, and fun community for all
- Anticipating potential challenges and de-escalating and resolving them

Full time
- 35-40 hours per week from June 24-August 29. Optional: March 17-28.

The position will be outdoors, guiding camps. It is suited for someone with extensive experience and training who will act as a lead guide at one of our camps. We are looking for a calm and collaborative leader. As this job is funded by Canada Summer Jobs, staff need to be between 18-30 years old and Canadian citizens or Permanent residents.

Extensive knowledge of games is recommended. Please include a recent Criminal Record Check if you have one. A CRC is required. We seek and value a diverse and inclusive community.

Out-trips at our Tri-Cities Camps include Town Centre Park, CCAC Pool, Spani Pool, Crash Crawly's, Zone Bowling, Centennial Pool, Mackin Park, Gates Park, and more. This is a very active role that actively participates in all activities. We meet at (or near) the out-trip of the day. There is almost no admin for this role.

Adventure Play Care Society is a non-profit that operates Rainforest Adventure Camps for kids and youth. These camps are outdoors in and around the Tri-cities exploring some of the most beautiful forests, lakes, beaches, and rivers in the area. Our camps seek to further develop participants' independence, leadership, empathy, resilience, and social growth in a fun, safe, and peaceful setting. Our programs are child-centred. Our mission is to inspire, empower, and create community.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
