**About the Position**

Reporting to the Manager Metal Fabrication, the Brake Press Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining the brake press, shear, and rolling machines, including related tools and equipment.

**Probation**:3 months.

**Shifts**:Morning (8:00AM - 4:00PM), Evening (4:00PM -12:00AM), Night (12:00AM - 8:00AM)

**Responsibilities/Accountabilities**
- Review samples, drawings and/or instructions to understand specifications of output.
- Read work orders and tag the product as required.
- Read and interpret drawings and/or blueprints.
- Plan sequence of necessary actions for completion of a job.
- Determine specifications, such as quantity, dimensions and/or tolerances.
- Calculate blank sizes, bend locations, appropriate tonnage and tooling for each part being formed.
- Program bending machines in accordance to drawings, instructions and specifications.
- Operate bending, shear, and rolling machines.
- Use variety of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, protractors, and others to perform periodic checks on output.
- Measure processed parts to verify conformance to specifications.
- Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine within capabilities.
- Report all machine malfunctions to management or supervisor.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment performance and prevent machine downtime.
- Organize work area before and after parts are processed; stack completed parts properly on skid.
- Transport parts that require further processing to respective designated areas.
- Transport completed parts to the shipping area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

- You have the ability to read drawings and specifications; knowledge of engineering tolerances
- You have a thorough knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance

**Experience/Skills/Education**

**Required**:

- 3 year’s experience in similar role preferred, but willing to train
- High school diploma

**Preferred**:

- Brake press certification
- Experience with TRUMPF’s TRUBEND and HACO
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD

**Physical Requirements**
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently throughout the work day
- Must be able to accommodate changing work shifts, including midnight to 7:00 am
- Must be able to stand and to work with hands for extended periods
- Must have good spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
