Straight Truck Driver

**We are currently hiring for the position of a 5-ton straight truck driver to serve Dartmouth and greater HRM. This role includes warehouse freight sorting, loading, and unloading work along with picking up and delivering freight. (Trainer will be assigned for 1-2 weeks)**

**Early Hours**

Monday 3am - 12pm, Tuesday 5am - 2pm, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 4am - 1pm

**Requirements**:
Must have valid class 5 drivers license for minimum 3 years.

Must provide clean drivers abstract.

Must provide criminal record check with no convictions.

Must complete assigned online safe driving, forklift, and TDG courses.

Previous experience driving 5 ton or cube truck.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Safely handling freight via forklift, pallet jack and manually (must be able to lift 75lbs.)
- Sorting, staging, and counting freight.
- Using provided handheld device to scan and deliver freight.
- Properly loading and securing freight onto 5-ton straight truck.
- Completing daily safety inspections of vehicle and equipment, and accurately logging driver's Hours of Service.
- Picking up and delivering loose and palletized freight by means of loading docks, hydraulic tail lift service, and manually.

**Ability to commute/relocate**:

- Dartmouth, NS**:reliably **commute or plan to relocate before starting work (**required**)

**Experience**:

- Delivery driving: 2 years (**required**)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
